Does the iPhone have to be synced to the computer first before it's actually ready to be used? I'm at work and dont have my personal computer here to sync to, to find out.
Yep I sat there for 30 min waiting for it to show service so I called them back. They asked if I had synced with my computer and I said no and they said as soon as you do that it will ask you to register your iPhone and as soon as I did that it went nuts with text messages, etc. So once you do that you will be good to go.
Re: AT&T and Alltel Merger
Got phones today, follow the directions to not turn it on and to fully charge it first. Only problem as soon as I plug it in to charge it turns itself on. I turned it off and guess what it turned itself back on instantly, so probably will screw up the activation.
Re: AT&T and Alltel Merger
Nah, mine did that too and were all activated just fine with the exception of iphone which I explained before, it was my fault for not syncing
Re: AT&T and Alltel Merger
Ours briefly turned themselves on too when starting the charge. Didn't have an effect - just had to do the same thing UTVols2 had to do and sync. Everything appears to be running smoothly.
Re: AT&T and Alltel Merger
Do all phones have to be synced with the computer or just the IPhones?
Re: AT&T and Alltel Merger
Just the iPhones to my knowledge. They have to be registered through the iTunes program.
Re: AT&T and Alltel Merger
Received my phones today,, all activated and working great..
Re: AT&T and Alltel Merger
Got our phones today. Not activated them yet, though.
Re: AT&T and Alltel Merger
Hearing some stories about people activating early and being charged a $200 ETF by Alltel. I don't know if it's true but it's hard to know anything for certain with all this crap.

I have been thinking about that a lot. Is Mobile Broadband Coverage the same as Mobile Coverage? The word broadband just implies to me it's just coverage for mobile internet and not phone. But I hope you're right about it. I don't want to be without coverage.
